Today, over 300 graduate workers and Rochester community members came together to disrupt commencement. We did this after telling the University of Rochester Administration exactly what would happen if they refused to meet with us and give us a process to form our union. In spite of this, we received no word and no offer from the U of R administration. Which forced us to take action. We applaud the many students who graduated today on their accomplishments, and will continue our fight. The coverage (WHAM, WHEC, Spectrum, WXXI, News8) showed how deep the support is in the community for our actions, and the broad degree of sympathy held for the plight of Graduate Workers at U of R.
